During January 2021, Smart Kolektiv launched its Program for supporting Sustainable Micro and Small Enterprises in Underdeveloped Areas in Serbia. The goal of this program is to provide expert and financial support to micro and small enterprises that contribute positively to the development of their local communities and employment of vulnerable groups.

A public call was opened in January, and during this period 39 companies from 10 underdeveloped municipalities applied to participate in the Program. During February, Selection Committee has evaluated received applications, after which following 10 enterprises were selected for participation in the program: Argo prima jug (Lebane), Avlija održivog razvoja (Bogatić), Chrono (Leskovac), Darovi Lužnice (Babušnica), DAST-NF (Bogatić), Inak (Bosilegrad), Mlekara Carpe Diem (Irig), Radanska ruža (Lebane), Vinarija Mačkov podrum (Irig), Vrtlari (Mali Iđoš).

Over the next 6 months, selected enterprises will have the opportunity to work on improving their businesses models through a series of interactive workshops and individual consultations with experienced business experts. In addition, enterprises with the greatest potential for further growth and employment will have the opportunity to receive grants in the amount of up to 6,000.00 USD.

The program is being implemented by Smart Kolektiv in partnership with the association ProAktiv from Niš and the association Roads of Entrepreneurship from Novi Sad. The program is being implemented within the project “Norway for you – Serbia”  funded by the Kingdom of Norway and implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
