On April 12, the director of Smart Kolektiv and the Responsible Business Forum, Neven Marinović, held a guest lecture at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Kragujevac on the topic “Environmental, social and governance criteria as an integral part of the successful companies’ strategy – A brief guide to ESG”.
Caring for the environment, society and good corporate governance are becoming essential for all companies in modern business. Not only because socially responsible business, care for the environment and expectations from companies are incomparably higher, but because they are increasingly becoming part of various legislations, laws, and compliance processes. The lecture presented the basics of the concept of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles, which are increasingly discussed, the implications this concept has on business today, as well as the opportunities that open for companies that strategically integrate it.
The lecture was held as part of the Environmental Management Systems course and was attended by students of basic and master’s academic studies, as well as individuals interested in this topic.
