Zoom, June 17, 2020 – During the month of June, Smart Kolektiv and the Erste Foundation organized an online panel titled How social enterprises in the Western Balkans are managing the crisis?
The panel was held on June 17, 2020 from 3 pm to 5 pm, via Zoom platform. The panel was attended by over 50 participants coming mostly from social enterprises and support organizations from the region.
Together with representatives of social enterprises from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, we discussed the current situation in the social entrepreneurship sector in the region and the EU, as well as the challenges and opportunities that the COVID crisis has created for these entrepreneurs. Participants on the panel were Teo Petričević from ACT group and Ivan Božić from social enterprise Humana Nova from Croatia, Vesna Bajsanski-Agić from Mozaik Foundation and Vedad Vajzović from social enterprise Greens doo from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Ivana Stančić from Smart Kolektiv and Miroljub Nikolić from the social enterprise Caritas Sabac, from Serbia.Also, regional and EU experts and representatives of organizations that provide support to social entrepreneurship shared their insights on the available support measures for the private sector and the possibilities for their improvement. Amra Omeragić from Finance in motion and Mirjana Šakić from Erste Group spoke in this part. The moderator of the event was Neven Marinović from Smart Kolektiv.
Through conversation, presentation of good solutions and sharing of entrepreneurial experience, we discussed how our sector changes during the crisis, but also how it can contribute in the fight against the crisis consequences. The event was organized within the NGO Academy program of the Erste Foundation.
