Zoom, October 8 and 29, 2020 – The Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) launched a new project named “Innovation for a Better World – Advanced Solutions for Sustainable Development”, with an aim to prototype a new funding scheme on frugal innovation for organizations from Austria and the Western Balkans. The project is being implemented by Impact Hub Vienna together with a consortium of partners composed of Advantage Austria (Austria), 288 Grad Consulting (Austria), Center for Social Innovation (ZSI) (Austria) and Smart Kolektiv (Serbia).
Director of Smart Kolektiv Neven Marinović participated in the online sessions through which innovators from the Western Balkans and Austria could find out more about the funding and partnership opportunities around the topic of frugal innovation in the Western Balkans. During October, two online sessions dedicated to different topics were organized: October 8th, 2020 – Environmental sustainability: Climate action & adaptation and October 29th, 2020 – Social innovation: Leave no one behind.
Participants had the opportunity to get to know the representatives of ADA & FFG, learn first-hand about the funding programs and ask clarifying questions, get feedback on their project idea or develop project ideas with other parties interested in solving the same problem, identify potential partners in Austria and the Western Balkans through facilitated matchmaking and networking.
One more online session, dedicated to the topic of Digitalization – Technology in service of impact, will be organized on November 19th, 2020.
