At a recent guest lecture at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade, Neven Marinović, the director of Smart Kolektiv and the Responsible Business Forum, presented key concepts of CSR, with a special focus on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors in the context of the market and communication. The lecture took place on January 18, as part of the course on Socially Responsible Marketing, at the invitation of Professor Tamara Vlastelica.

Master’s students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest trends and current solutions in the field of corporate social responsibility, with a special focus on ESG/SDG factors that companies increasingly take into account in managing their businesses, and investors when making investment decisions. Why these factors are crucial for contemporary business, how they are applied, and what specific challenges they pose for communication were some of the segments of this lecture. Students had the opportunity to learn about the progress of integrating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and practices regarding the environment, social responsibility, and conscientious corporate governance (ESG) into business, taking into account the national context and the influence of European Union policies, as well as to identify the current and forthcoming impact of national policies and regulations aimed at promoting sustainable development.

A special part of the lecture was dedicated to presenting the “Sustainable Development for All” platform, which promotes inclusive dialogue among various non-governmental actors in Serbia, such as civil society, corporations, academic and research institutions, media organizations, and citizens, with the aim of aligning Serbia’s development goals with those established in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
