Belgrade, November 1, 2019 – Almost one billion dinars was contribution of the private sector to the local communities as shown by the Responsible Business Forum’s annual survey Better business for the better community-community support in numbers”. On average, large companies contributed with 25 million dinars, medium companies with 8 million, while small enterprises contributed to the community with amounts in range between 50 and 100.000 dinars.

Like in previous years the business sector has paid the greatest attention to supporting projects related to education, but this year there is a large step forward in implementing projects of economic empowerment led by individual companies. Women, young people, farmers, SMEs from food and agriculture sector were amongst empowered groups of these initiatives, demonstrating how the business leaders can have a great impact in making empowered and sustainable communities.

Publication of the survey also features over 30 case-studies on how companies contributed to the local communities and can be downloaded at the following link www.odgovornoposlovanje.rs.

This year’s survey is conducted under the activities of Project Framework for Giving, funded by USAID, and implemented by the Coalition for Giving, led by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation. Other Coalition members are the Trag Foundation, Catalyst Balkans, Smart Kolektiv, the Serbian Philanthropy Forum, the Responsible Business Forum and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
