Novi Sad – On Monday, April 3, 2023, the Youth with Disabilities Forum (FMI) and Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, to formalize mutual support and cooperation on the Job Fit: Economic empowerment of persons with disabilities project, financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
This cooperation will help improve the status of persons with disabilities on the labor market, encourage equality in employment practices and help improve the competitiveness of persons with disabilities on the job market through a variety of professional skill trainings.
“The Youth with Disabilities Forum, in collaboration with Caritas Serbia, will establish Centers for career guidance and counseling for people with disabilities in Novi Sad, Zrenjanin and Subotica, where they will be offered free training and retraining programs, while employers will receive guidance on how to adapt their workplaces and work tasks to employees with disabilities. With the support from the Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism we will work to increase the number of PWDs that are employed within the private sector in Vojvodina,” stated Jovana Krivokuća – Milovanović, Executive director of the Youth with Disabilities Forum.
The project “Job Fit: Economic empowerment of persons with disabilities” is financed by the American United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and is implemented by the Youth with Disabilities Forum, together with partners Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, Caritas Serbia, Smart Kolektiv and the Center for Independent Living of Persons with disabilities of Serbia. The project will be implemented at the national level with a focus on Novi Sad, Subotica, Zrenjanin, as well as Belgrade, Niš and Valjevo.
