As part of the “Green Kick” project, which focuses on strengthening the role of civil society in the decarbonization process and combating climate change, advanced trainings on sustainable energy development and the creation of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) were held in Sarajevo and Nikšić.
After the first training held in early March in Belgrade, April was marked with two additional advanced trainings held on April 3rd and 4th in Sarajevo and on April 25th and 26th in Nikšić. The trainings were led by experts in energy efficiency from nLogic Advisory, Nihad Harbaš in Sarajevo and Benjamin Čekić in Nikšić.
The training in Sarajevo provided insights into relevant strategic documents for creating the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) and the importance of renewable energy sources for the environment. Additionally, the concept of the energy balance of the system was presented, along with measures for its improvement.
At the Nikšić training, participants were introduced to the key role of SECAP in the process of decarbonization and sustainable energy transition. Moreover, the status of countries in the region in developing SECAPs was presented, as well as the implementation of already adopted plans in the field of energy sustainable development of local self-government units. Furthermore, ecological, energy, and financial effects of measures to reduce CO2 emissions and other pollutants were presented.
The trainings were attended by members of the “Green Kick” project team from the the Centre for Development and Support – CRP, FORS Montenegro and Smart Kolektiv, as well as representatives of the Nikšić Municipality who participated in the training held in Nikšić.
