Within the framework of the Green Kick project dedicated to strengthening the role of civil society in the process of decarbonization and climate protection legislation, the first advanced training on Sustainable Energy Development within the concept of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) was conducted.
Hosted as part of the ongoing capacity-building initiatives for the project consortium and partner organisations, the training was held in Belgrade on 5 and 6 of March. The training brought together key stakeholders from various organizations, including the Green Kick project team members from the Centre for Development and Support – CRP, FORS Montenegro and Smart Kolektiv, as well as members of the local CSO – National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED). A total of 12 participants actively engaged in the comprehensive sessions.
Led by esteemed energy and climate specialist Nihad Harbaš, nLogic Advisory, the training delved into crucial aspects of sustainable energy development within the framework of SECAPs. Participants gained insights into the causes and effects of climate change, climate mitigation and decarbonization, and the pivotal role of initiatives such as the Covenant of Mayors in promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy adoption. Training participants acquired valuable insights into the development of SECAP, including involvement of different stakeholders, establishment of working groups, data collection, analysis of risk and vulnerability of climate change and more. This was the first out of three planned Advanced trainings tailored for the project consortium.
The “Green Kick” project is implemented by Smart Kolektiv in partnership with the Center for Development and Support from Tuzla and FORS Montenegro from Nikšić. The project is part of the European Climate Initiative (EUKI). EUKI is an instrument for financing projects of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
