Neven Marinović, Director of Smart Kolektiv, was one of the participants at the “EkoBiz” conference held from April 14th to 16th in Vrnjačka Banja. This conference, organized by the environmental and humanitarian organization Čepom do osmeha, presented examples of good practice in environmental protection and encouraged dialogue between companies, local governments, representatives of institutions, and the civil sector to improve the environment.

The first day of the conference was dedicated to green topics, the current state, and the future of sustainable development in Serbia, while the second day featured two panels emphasizing the importance of business partnerships and social entrepreneurship in supporting environmental activism and sustainable development.

Neven Marinović moderated a panel titled “Social Entrepreneurship: Potential for Environmental Activism,” which discussed the role of social entrepreneurship in environmental protection and support for sustainable development. Speakers on this panel included Sanja Gavranović from the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans’ Affairs and Social Affairs; Sonja Konakov Svirčev from Erste Bank Serbia; Željko Vidaković from the Humanitarian Service “Odnesi”; Aleksandar Vidanović from the Association “GEA”; Nenad Krbovac from the Association of Paraplegics of Banat, and Siniša Tešić, an advisor for international cooperation.

The panels provided deep insights and inspired conference participants to take concrete steps towards achieving sustainable development goals and improving environmental activism through partnerships and social entrepreneurship.
