The award ceremony, recognizing companies that have integrated sustainable development goals into their business operations, took place on December 12 as part of this year’s CSR & ESG forum.

The “Sustainability Champions” award, aiming to highlight projects directly contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals agenda, was given for the third time. This year, six outstanding projects from the following companies were awarded:

  • Delhaize Serbia – “Hrana za sve” (Food for All) Subtarget: 2.1 – By 2030, end hunger and ensure access by all people, in particular, the poor and vulnerable, to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food all year round.
  • OTP Bank – “Generator Lab” Subtarget: 8.3 – Promote development-oriented policies that support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro-enterprises, including access to financial services.
  • Lidl Serbia – “Dobro se reciklažom vraća” (Recycling Pays Off) Subtarget: 12.5 – By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse.
  • Erste Bank Serbia – “#VerujUsebe: Osnaživanje žena“ (empowering women) Subtarget: 5.5 – Ensure full and effective participation of women and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic, and public life.
  • Elixir Group – “Decarbonization Roadmap Development” Subtarget: 9.4 – By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with greater resource efficiency and increased adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes.
  • Unicredit Bank Serbia – “Unified Credit Line – Opportunity for Inclusive Employment” Subtarget: 9.3 – Increase access of small-scale industries and other enterprises to financial services, especially in developing countries, including affordable credit, and enhance their integration into value chains and markets.

This year’s CSR & ESG Forum conference was supported by the “Job Fit: Economic Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities” project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the Youth with Disabilities Forum. Other project partners are the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, Caritas of Serbia, Smart Kolektiv and the Center for Independent Living of Persons with Disabilities. The conference is further supported by the “Sustainable Development for All” platform supported by the Governments of Switzerland and Germany, and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH as part of the Public Finance Reform Project – Agenda 2030.  The conference friends are Coca Cola HBC Serbia, Ahold Delhaize Serbia, Elixir Group and Heineken Serbia.
