Ivana Stančić, Program Manager at Smart Kolektiv, participated in this year’s EU Civil Society Forum for the Western Balkans and Türkiye, organized by the EU TACSO 3 project on behalf of the European Commission.

The EU Civil Society Forum for the Western Balkans and Türkiye was held from June 11-13, 2024, in Belgrade. Ivana Stančić from Smart Kolektiv moderated a session focused on the development of social entrepreneurship and the impact of the social economy on the digital and green transition. During the discussion, along with conference participants, recommendations for further development of the social economy in the region were defined. The conversation took place within the “World Café” program, which included six different topics proposed by the conference participants.

The Forum brought together key stakeholders from the region’s civil society to exchange ideas, network, and discuss important topics for the civil sector. The aim of the conference was to empower the civil sector in the region through the exchange of knowledge and ideas during various sessions dedicated to key issues relevant to civil society. This year’s Forum hosted 150 participants, including representatives of civil society, EU officials, state institutions, and international organizations. The focus of this year’s Forum was on the new opportunities provided by the EU’s 6 billion Euro Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and the role of civil society in the Reform and Growth Instrument.
