Belgrade, 20 – 22 May 2021 – Within the RISE program, Smart Kolektiv held the first training of the series „Design for a Better Society“, on the topic of social entrepreneurship and Design Thinking, creative methods for solving problems.

The training was held for students and alumni of the Belgrade Open School, who, during the three-day training, were introduced to the basics of Design Thinking and the concept of social entrepreneurship. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about the idea of social entrepreneurship and the way in which social businesses solve social problems.

The presentation of examples of successful social enterprises operating in our country was aimed at inspiring the participants. Using the Design Thinking methodology during the training, participants devised innovative solutions to two burning environmental problems: the problem of surplus and food waste and the problem of growing textile waste dumps in Serbia.

The Design for a Better Society training is the first training of a number of trainings that the Smart Kolektiv team will conduct until June 2022. The training is intended for all interested young people, aged 15 to 35, and is conducted within the RISE program – Regional Incubator for Social Entrepreneurship.
