Belgrade, December 4 – The role of the corporate sector and the impact of their CSR initiatives on the economic growth of local communities was the main topic of the CSR Forum 2019 organized on December 4, 2019.

During 2019, the corporate sector donated more than 635 million dinars for the development of local communities. According to research on Philanthropic Giving in Serbia, companies focused their CSR initiatives on local economic growth by empowering local entrepreneurs especially when it comes to agriculture, youth and women in business. Furthermore, other areas that companies mainly invested in include education, culture and arts, healthcare, sports, economic growth and environmental protection.

The conference CSR Forum 2019 “Leaders of Sustainable Development” was opened by Slavica Đukić Dejanović, Minister without portfolio responsible for demography and population policy, Dejan Turk, the President of the Responsible Business Forum and CEO of VIP, Shanley Pinchotti, Director of the Office of Democratic Governance and Economic Growth, USAID Serbia and Neven Marinović, Director of Smart Kolektiv and Executive Director of the Responsible Business Forum Serbia.

The event was organized by Smart Kolektiv and the Responsible Business Forum within the Framework for Giving project, funded by USAID, and implemented by the Coalition for Giving, led by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation. Other Coalition members are the Trag Foundation, Catalyst Balkans, Smart Kolektiv, the Serbian Philanthropy Forum, the Responsible Business Forum and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
