Director of Smart Kolektiv, Neven Marinović, was one of the speakers at the conference “Social Economy, the Future of Europe” that took place in Strasbourg on May 5-6. The conference was organised by French Presidency of the Council of the EU and it was a great opportunity to debate and exchange views among decision-makers and social economy stakeholders concerning the role that social economy can play for the future of Europe. One of the objectives of the two days event was to mobilise 1000 social economy stakeholders from all over Europe and beyond to exchange, build alliances and engage in the implementation of SEAP: the most important EU public policy for the social economy in a decade that has the potential to support the development of social economy models.

Neven Marinovic was one the speakers at the workshop “Financing brilliant solutions: How to access funding for your social Start-up” which took place on May 5th. The participants, including Stefanos Kamperis (Social Cooperative, Greece), Joyce Knappe (Pro Parents, The Netherlands), Rowan Barnett (Google.org), Gorgi Krlev (University of Oxford) and Bianca Polidoro (EVPA), discussed about challenges and solutions in obtaining funding by social entrepreneurs. The session was moderated by Euclid representatives – Wieteke Dupain, Sophie Roos and Marcela Rocha F. Neves.

The conference brought together all the social economy actors in order to discuss solutions for people and the planet, and with the aim to scale up the social economy. The event was organised by the city and euro-metropolis of Strasbourg, in cooperation with the French Presidency of the Council, the European Commission, the EESC and the Committee of the Regions in cooperation with EU and french social economy networks as Social Economy Europe (SEE), ESS-France, CRESS Grand Est, REVES, RTES, Le Labo, SSE International Forum, SOGA, FEBEA, FAIR and PLS.
